
The "normal"-sounding names are all given to characters spoofing familiar fairy-tale characters: Jack for Jack and the Beanstalk (where a married pair of giants have been repeatedly robbed by human men uniformly named Jack), Herman for Rumplestiltskin (who didn't want to keep people's children and changed his name so that it would be easier to remember or guess), and Rachel for Rapunzel (who let down her chair to people who somehow got the words mangled up).
